The Archaeological Society at Athens has conducted over one thousand excavations all over Greece. Among the sites excavated by the Society are some of the most prestigious sites of Greece, such as the Acropolis, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Messene, Sounion, Dodona, and the prehistoric site in Santorini-Thera, many of which are still under excavation. New excavations, such as those at Iklaina, Thouria, and Onchestos, have brought to light new evidence that changes our knowledge of the Classical World.
